SPX10 Stockholm in Retrospect

I left Stockholm in glorious sunshine and the Small Press Expo fair still going for another hour, but it was in a sense of victory. This weekend has been simply awesome.

We arrived Friday, had the release party for the book (Swedish Comic Sin http://swedishcomicsin.blogspot.com/ ) and we were delighted to be met with curiosity and just an air of positivity to the book. It was perfect and for me, quite exciting!

I was later invited by my old Comic School teacher, Gunnar Krantz, to a dinner together with Natalia and Catarina Batista, there we met some really interesting people such as Leo Sandberg www.fabpics.com who have been working on games and movies (such as 9 by Tim Burton and Mirror's Edge) as a concept artist. That was truly a great experience.

Me and Amanda Hakim lived at her uncle's place, a fun man with a sweet family that felt almost like family, it was great.

Saturday we started by finish setting up the table and started selling our fanzines and books even before the table were fully set and the fair even opened, We sold VERY well the first day and nearly just as well the second day. I sold all that I had left of my personal copies of my Birger Jarl comic (yay) as well ^^! Met great artist such as Stef Gaines, Lisa Medin, Lisa Wool-Rim Sjöblom, Maria Fröhlich, Peter Madsen, and about a million more. All of the people selling were either the actual creators of the comics or the people publishing their things. It was all people from the "business" so to say, I loooove that knowledge.

Day two, Sunday that is, was pretty much Saturday only not as stressed. It was sweet to see all the people being delighted by SCS and see the last of my Birger to get sold. All of it was.

I know I am going next year as well. For sure.
